Senior Software Engineer

San Francisco, CA

San Francisco, CA Full-time $240,000 base

visaworker.ai builds AI-powered tools for complex immigration petitions. We are looking for a senior, product-minded engineer to turn evidence and document workflows into reliable, intuitive software—working directly with the founders and immigration experts.

01· Why this role

Shape how this work changes.

AI is rapidly reshaping how immigration work gets done. This role is an opportunity to build how experts will practice: the tools that gather evidence, draft arguments, and keep every case correct, reviewable, and private end to end.

02· What you will own

The mandate.

  • Deliver full-stack features end to end, from a user's problem through deployment.
  • Build document ingestion, evidence organization, and review workflows for complex cases.
  • Integrate and evaluate AI features, always with human review in the loop.
  • Engineer for reliability: observability, access controls, and protection of sensitive data.
  • Make pragmatic architecture choices and steadily improve performance.
  • Work directly with lawyers and the founders on what to build and how it should behave.
03· Who you are

What we are looking for.

  • 3–7 years of professional software engineering, with real ownership of production systems.
  • Ability across the modern web stack: frontend, backend, APIs, and data models.
  • Good product judgment and clear communication, with strong testing, debugging, and reliability habits.
  • Able to evaluate AI capabilities beyond demos—honest about failure modes and how to guard against them.
  • Immigration experience is not required; curiosity and care for user outcomes are essential.
